On May 2, 1968, Green Beret SSG Roy Benavidez heard a Special Forces team was pinned down deep in the Vietnam jungle. He didn’t hesitate. With no backup and under intense enemy fire, he jumped from a helicopter, ran 75 meters through gunfire, and fought for six brutal hours to save his comrades.

Shot, stabbed, and hit by grenade shrapnel, Benavidez refused to quit. He rescued the wounded, defended the perimeter, recovered classified intel, and personally carried his men to safety, saving at least 8 lives.

This is the incredible true story of one of America’s most heroic warriors and how he earned the Medal of Honor.
